St. Augustine, FL – The Jacksonville Giants improved to 18-1 with a, 144-120, win over the St. Augustine Glory. The Giants invaded the Nations oldest city Wednesday night and put on a thrilling show for the St. Augustine crowd. The victory gives theGiants their seventh Southeast Division Championship in eight seasons.

“It’s a great accomplishment to win the Division Title,” said Giants head coach Jerry Williams.

Coach Williams, in his second season as head coach, made sure that his team stayed focused going into the last two Division games of the season. Following Saturday nights win over Orlando, Coach Williams turned his attention to a young and gritty St. Augustine team. Williams made it clear that winning the division is a very important goal for the entire Giants community. The victory gives Williams his second Division Championship as head coach.

The St. Augustine crowd was very energetic in an intense battle between the two teams. The game went back and forth throughout the first half with both teams landing crucial shots. Both offensive team philosophies focused and relied on  rapid tempos to score points. The Giants maintained a close 63-62 halftime lead. Both teams were strong from the three point line as the Glory landed 19 total three pointers with the Giants landing 11.

The win showcased Giants newcomer Jeremiah Hill. Hill led the Giants with 24 points, which included four-three pointers. Another player that helped rally the team was seasoned veteran Jermaine “Slim” Bell. Bell played strong scoring 23 points and controlling the boards in the rebounding department. Dylon Cormier, another Giant first year player, also was stellar. Cormier scored 24 points and had an impressive 13 point second quarter. Larry Dumas added 17 points to round out the top scorers for Jacksonville.
