The defending ABA Champion Jacksonville Giants continued their undefeated season with a commanding, 148-96, win over the Georgia Gwizzlies. Georgia was tough on the Giants early in the game, but the defending champions went on a strong rally late in the first half to secure the win. Jacksonville will now turn their attention to the number one ranked North Alabama War Dogs next week.

Jacksonville was led by the explosive offensive play of Brandon Davies. Davies scored a team high 29 points in the win. Davies was 8 of 16 from three point land. The long range three pointers made the crowd electric. Guard Brenton Williams also got involved in the three point shooting. Williams went 4 of 12 and had 16 points.

Guards Miguel Paul (21 points) and Bernard Nugent (18 points) rounded out the top scorers for Jacksonville. Offensively the Giants were 36-50 from the free throw line and 18-49 from the three point line. Elijah “Superman” Smith, Calvin Warner, and Clarence Tillman all had powerful slam dunks in the win.

Defensively Jacksonville was just as impressive, holding Georgia to under 100 points. Nugent and Williams combined for nine steals, with Warner leading the team in defensive rebounds. Seven players scored in double digits for the Giants.
