The Jacksonville Giants conclude their weekend road series with another commanding win. The Giants cooled off the Atlanta Heat 163-114 for their 12th straight win of the season. Jacksonville remains undefeated for the 2019-2020 season.

“I am more than happy with the way we are playing together as a team,” said head coach Jerry Williams. “The guys are having fun playing the game that they love.”

Saturday night the Giants showcased a championship defense in their 114-59 win over the Georgia Gwizzlies. However, on Sunday Jacksonville showed that they have a spectacular offense as well. The Giants landed 26 three pointers as a team. The long range shooting was an incredible performance for the team.

“I’m a very proud coach,” said Williams.

Brent Williams had another amazing weekend as the newcomer led the Giants with 30 points. Bernard Nugent (29 points) and Maurice Mickens (28 points) also contributed with big scoring numbers. Both Mickens and Nugent landed multiple three pointers throughout the game, keeping the momentum for Jacksonville. Miguel Paul rounded out the scoring leaders with 24 points.

“When we are hitting threes the way we were tonight, it’s easy to grab rebounds and kick it out,” said Calvin Warner.

Williams had six three pointers on the night with Mickens adding five. Defensively, Nugent and Warner helped lead the charge. Warner led the team in rebounds with Nugent adding multiple steals on the night.
