The six time ABA Champion Jacksonville Giants remain undefeated following a 137-90 win over the St. Augustine Glory. Jacksonville improves to 3-0 this season.

“We played a great game,” said Giants head coach Jerry Williams. “I’m very proud of the guys.”

Jacksonville started the game strong on defense. The Giants continued to switch up their defensive philosophy, keeping the Glory out of shooting rhythm. Physical inside players such as veteran Calvin Warner and Clarence Tillman were the difference. Warner led the team in rebounds with Tillman adding in several blocked shots.

Offensively the Giants had similar success, scoring over 125 points for the third  consecutive game. Jacksonville remained balanced on offense with several players leading the way. Brandon Davis led the team with 20 points with Ben Howze (18 points) and Brenton Williams (16 points) rounding out the scoring leaders.

The turning point in the game was Jacksonville’s strong second quarter. Williams, Davis, and Warner combined for 25 of the teams 34 second quarter points. The 68-47 halftime lead was too much of a deficit for St. Augustine to come back from. The Glory did play strong in the first quarter but the second quarter mistakes hurt any comeback attempt.
