The Madness continues as we come to the end of March. The Giants will be dancing to Alabama this upcoming weekend to play in their final games in order to qualify for the Elite 8! Saturday, the Giants will be battling the Georgia Soul fresh off our victory against the Palm Beach Stampede. Jacksonville and Palm Beach were battling toe to toe throughout the first half, but the Giants took over from the three point line in the 3rd quarter to take a commanding lead and ultimately win 143-103! The Soul are coming off a nail biting 118-114 victory against the Columbus Blackhawks, and now the Soul will turn their attention to stop the red hot Giants in their tracks, in a game where the loser goes home.
Whoever takes the victory Saturday will have little time to rest and gear up for another playoff battle against the hosting Baldwin County Hoopers, within the same Alabama city of Prichard. Coach Tucker has hurdled every obstacle in his path thus far in his inaugural season. After rattling off 17 consecutive wins, he has to now shift his focus on what the team hopes to be back to back contests against ranked squads. The winner of the 3 teams in Alabama will then be on a flight bound for Baltimore towards the end of April in order to contend in the Elite 8!
The defending champs need to continue working as a complete unit as it has propelled them so far on this win streak. Hustling blocks back on defense by Superman Smith, 3 electrifying threes in a row by Miguel Paul, and guidance from the vets on the team was the X-Factor to the Giants running away with the game last weekend. Now they must turn to their cinderblocks of success from this entire season which includes, leadership, teamwork, and hustle.
